They released their debut album, The Big Come Up in 2002 but it wasn’t until dropping their third effort Rubber Factory that they became a benchmark for garage rock infused type of rock and roll. During the genre’s resergence in the 2000, The Black Keys were regarded as one of the most influential artists to come out. The band had developed a large underground fan base, but soon enough, the music was just too awesome to gatekeep. By 2008, the band had become a chart performing sensation when their fifth album, Attack & Release entered the Top 15 of the Billboard 200 chart. Last year, the duo released their latest effort Ohio Players, which charted in several countries including the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.
