21 Savage is pullin' up at the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion on Saturday, May 18th, with supporting acts from J.I.D, Nardo Wick, and 21 Lil Harold. After a five-year hiatus from solo tours, the UK-born rapper is bringing the “American Dream Tour” to major concert venues across North America. Kicking things off in Vancouver this May, the 30-date trek will hit Phoenix, Austin, Los Angeles, Houston, Cincinnati, Hartford, and more before wrapping up at the singer’s hometown in Atlanta this coming June.
You may not know this, but before he was a chart-topping champion, 21 Savage dropped heat on the streets with early mixtapes. Following this, collaborations with heavyweights like Future, Post Malone, and Drake put him on the map, but his solo debut, "Issa Album," in 2017 instantly earned him international fame. More recently, he released his fourth Billboard No. 1 album, “American Dream,” which the upcoming tour of the same name is set to promote. This successful record has already sold a total of 133,000 equivalent units in the U.S. alone in its first week.
“Savage raps as if he’s sharing stories with a close friend, the audience rapt and ready to support the call-and-response chorus. It seems like a missed opportunity for him not to have played more solo material like this, especially given that he remains alone on stage throughout. Still, that in itself is testament to his magnetic star power,” The Guardian shares.
