Ben rectors music has evolved so much since he first picked up a guitar at the age of 16 and started writing songs. whilst he was in high school, he was performing local gigs, and by the time he got to the University of Arkansas, he was touring within an eight-hour drive of campus. He didn’t stay local for long, he began making waves in 2006 when he became the youngest grand prize winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest with his song Conversation from his self-titled EP and from there, his career took off.
In 2007, he dropped his first studio album, Twenty Tomorrow, followed by Songs That Duke Wrote in 2008. By 2010, Into the Morning had climbed to No. 11 on Billboard’s Top Heat seekers chart. But things really started heating up in 2011 when Something Like This landed on the Billboard 200. Fast forward to 2015, and Brand New was a full-on hit, breaking into the top ten on the Billboard 200, ranking No. 2 on the Top Rock Albums chart, and taking the No. 1 spot for Top Folk Albums.
