Rogers, some good ol’ fashioned raucous rock and roll is on the cards!
Rock god Billy Idol is coming to Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion on 29 September 2024 as part of the Cox Concert Series, celebrating the 40th anniversary of his smash-hit album, “Rebel Yell”, together with special guest Nile Rodgers & Chic!
Nobody rocks harder than Billy Idol, and there is no sign of slowing down. He will be tearing through the hits, digging into his extensive songbook, with the focus on his landmark “Rebel Yell” album, which brought the world smash-hits such as “Eyes Without a Face”, “Flesh for Fantasy”, “Rebel Yell”, and “Catch My Fall” in what promises to be a roof-raising, earth-shaking concert for the books!
Expect all the swagger, leather, side sneers, fist pumping, and struts, just as hot and rocking as when MTV still played music; expect to be on your feet, rocking out, having the time of your life! Tickets are priced from only $67 and they are flying, so don't snooze, hit that button and get yours right now!
Fact: Billy Idol has what everybody wants and needs: he is rock and roll royalty after all. Even 42 years after he emerged from the gritty underground London punk scene and catapulted into stardom with his debut studio album, “Billy Idol”, featuring overnight hits such as “Dancing with Myself” and “White Wedding”, he is still a rebel, sounding just as good as back when he was on heavy rotation and MTV still played actual music.
It’s been 40 years since the release of his second double platinum studio album, “Rebel Yell”, and it has been one big celebration. An expanded edition of “Rebel Yell”, featuring the demo version of the 1984 single “Flesh for Fantasy”, a selection of previously unreleased songs and demos, a Poolside remix of the hit “Eyes Without a Face”, and a never-before-heard Billy Idol and Steve Stevens original song, “Best Way Out of Here”, is now on sale.
Another fact: Billy Idol is a rock genius, and the proof is in the accolades. During his career, he received three Grammy Award nominations and 10 MTV Video Music Award nominations, of which he won one; he received a Brit Award and Pollstar Concert Industry Award nomination; and won an ASCAP Pop Music Award and a Classic Rock Roll of Honour Award. He is also a Hollywood Walk of Fame inductee.
Billy Idol, together with his longtime backing band, including his sidekick guitarist extraordinaire and collaborator of over 40 years, Steve Stevens, has been on the road and will be concluding their tour at the hottest outdoor music venue in Arkansas, the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion, as a part of the Cox Concert Series. Billy Idol will be revving it up to the next level with the hits, along with some newer tracks, and rumour has it that there might be a new album on the cards. The venue can host up to 11,000 fans, of which 3,500 are reserved, covered seats in two sections, and the remainder additional general admission lawn seating and sponsor boxes.
One thing is certain: you’re in for one hell of a time and will leave the venue danced out, satisfied, and with that post-concert buzz that lasts for weeks!
Billy Idol will be supported by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and six-time Grammy Award winner Nile Rodgers & Chic, famed for smash-hits such as “Dance, Dance, Dance”, “I Want Your Love”, and “Le Freak”.
